A frequent question arises in any discussion or interviews, what is the common distinction between a software quality assurance engineer and a software test engineer.
Both Software QA and Software tester have different roles during software development. let’s look into their roles one by one.
Software Quality Assurance Engineer
The core task of a software quality assurance engineer is to assure the quality of the software. The question arises how?
The explanation to this question is really simple, that is by improving software development processes, creating and implementing quality test plans and test cases. A software quality Assurance engineer is a person who is involved throughout the software development life cycle.
SQA engineers come up with test cases for the software tester for implementation and get the anticipated results, once done with the results based on results SQA Engineer gives a verdict for the quality of software.
SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER
The software tester is responsible for the execution of the test cases keeping track of the test plan deadlines, testing types, and approaches mentioned by the SQA Engineer in the test plan. Once the execution of the test cases is over, the software tester will provide the results to the SQA Engineer.
Software tester is one who only executes the test cases following the test plan deadlines , testing types and approaches mentioned by SQA Engineer in the test plan . Once a software tester is done with the testing or done with executing test cases , the software tester will provide the results to the SQA .
